The golden years aren’t always so pleasant for our feline friends. Veterinary research shows that approximately 60% of cats over the age of six exhibit signs of arthritis. That figure jumps to 90% in cats over the age of 12.
We created the Knead Therapeutic Cat Bed to ease arthritis symptoms in cats by using steady heat, orthopedic support, and herbal therapy. We’ve received glowing feedback from satisfied customers who’ve seen their cats become more mobile and playful thanks to our therapeutic cat bed, but now we have clinical proof that Knead is an effective arthritis treatment for cats.
In collaboration with Citruslabs, we provided a Knead Therapeutic Heated Cat Bed to 40 pet owners with senior and arthritic cats. After six weeks, cats who slept on Knead showed notable improvements in their health and behavior. Below are seven takeaways from the study that prove how our heated cat bed lives up to its promises.
What is the Knead Therapeutic Heated Cat Bed?
The Knead Therapeutic Cat Bed is specially designed to ease symptoms of arthritis in cats by delivering consistent warmth, ergonomic support, and relief from inflammation using heat-activated herbal pads.
About The Study
This study assessed Knead’s impact on the mobility, activity levels, and comfort of cats with arthritis over six weeks. We partnered with Citruslabs, a leader in clinical trials for personal care products, with a focus on pet health.
Pet owners replaced their cat’s usual bed with the Knead Therapeutic Cat Bed and used the herbal therapy mode for at least 20 minutes per day. Participants completed a questionnaire before the study, and then followed up every two weeks during the six-week period. Telehealth visits took place in week four.
The cats in the study were aged six years and up, and they were either diagnosed with arthritis or showing symptoms such as stiff gait, reluctance to jump, and poor grooming habits. To properly assess the effectiveness of Knead, the cats were not undergoing any arthritis treatments (such as medications or injections) at the time of the study.
